The Gay Men's Chorus Partners with The Palm Springs Plaza Theater
A cherished part of the Coachella Valley’s cultural landscape is stepping into a bold new spotlight.
The Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus, a beloved musical ensemble that has been uplifting and entertaining the community since the early 1990s, is preparing to take the stage once again. But this season, they're doing so with a significant new title—and at a newly revitalized venue that holds a special place in Palm Springs history.
The chorus has officially been named the Resident Artists of the iconic Palm Springs Plaza Theatre, marking a major milestone in the ensemble’s legacy and in the theater’s rebirth.
After years of restoration efforts, the historic Plaza Theatre—originally opened in 1936—has been brought back to life, and the Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus will be part of its next great chapter.
Joining NBC Palm Springs' Mary Strong is the chorus’s Artistic Director, Jerry Soria-Foust, to discuss what this new partnership means, and what audiences can look forward to in the upcoming season.
