Pet of the Week: Meet Fiji
Dan Rossi from the Palm Springs Animal Shelter joined NBC Palm Springs this week to introduce Fiji, an adorable 3-month-old cat looking for his forever home.
About Fiji
Fiji is a sweet, affectionate kitten who came to the shelter as a stray alongside his sibling, who has since been adopted. This loving lap cat has been charming everyone at the station with his loud purring and confident personality. Dan notes that Fiji is quite long and will likely grow into a larger cat, making him perfect for families seeking a devoted companion.
Clear the Shelters Weekend Event
This Saturday and Sunday, August 16-17, We are partnering with the Palm Springs Animal Shelter for Clear the Shelters. Thanks to generous community donations, all adoption fees are completely waived for the weekend.
What's Included:
Spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated animals ready for adoption
Tailwaggers starter pack with food, treats, and toys
Two tickets to the Living Desert Zoo & Gardens for adopters
This year, 120 animals have been fully sponsored by community members who wanted to help even if they couldn't adopt one themselves.
Can't Adopt? Consider Fostering
The shelter encourages those unable to adopt to consider fostering, which provides temporary homes for animals while freeing up shelter space. Foster families help staff learn more about each animal's personality, making future adoptions more successful.
Visit the Palm Springs Animal Shelter this weekend to meet Fiji and hundreds of other wonderful animals waiting for their forever homes.
