Walter Clark Legal Group Donates Backpacks to CVUSD Students as New School Year Begins
As the new school year gets underway, students in the Coachella Valley Unified School District are benefiting from a generous donation that ensures many will return to the classroom prepared. The Walter Clark Legal Group partnered with CVUSD to provide more than 1,500 backpacks filled with supplies during its annual giveaway.
For families across the region, the donation comes at a critical time. According to recent statistics, one in three children in the Coachella Valley lives below the poverty line, making the purchase of basic school necessities a financial challenge. Events like this help relieve some of that burden while bringing the community together.
“This is the sound of cars racing to get in line for Walter Clark’s annual backpack giveaway,” reported NBC Palm Springs’ Kaylee Robinson. Hundreds of families participated in the event, which CVUSD administrators say plays an important role in welcoming students back to school with the resources they need. “It’s also the engagement that we have from our community and the support that we have,” a district representative said.
Walter Clark emphasized that education remains at the heart of his organization’s outreach efforts. “We have made as our goal the focus on education, and we know the center of the valley really needs help,” Clark said. “So we put all the resources we can into providing help, whether it’s the schools directly, the teachers, or the students with backpacks and so forth.”
In total, Walter Clark’s group will distribute more than 4,400 backpacks this school year. The next giveaway is scheduled for August 26 at Lincoln Elementary School in El Centro.
