Indio Launches Emergency Alert System for Residents

The City of Indio has introduced a new emergency notification system designed to keep residents informed during critical situations, coinciding with National Preparedness Month in September.

The alert system provides real-time notifications about severe weather events, road closures, evacuation orders, and other public safety emergencies. Residents and businesses can register at www.indio.org/alert to receive notifications through text messages, phone calls, or email.

The service is free and available in both English and Spanish. Users can modify their notification preferences and contact information at any time through the online portal.

"Prepared communities are safer communities," said Mayor Glenn Miller. "National Preparedness Month is the perfect time to take one easy step that makes a big difference, so we strongly encourage our entire community to sign up for alerts to ensure access to critical information right when you need it."

The registration process requires basic contact information and takes only a few minutes to complete. The system aims to help residents respond quickly during emergencies and stay updated on rapidly changing situations.
