Six Suspects Arrested in Multi-County Jewelry Store Robbery Spree
All six suspects connected to a series of jewelry store robberies across Southern California have been taken into custody, with the final arrest made Tuesday in Lancaster.
George Allen Diamond, 41, of Lancaster, was the last suspect apprehended in connection with the August 9 robbery of Don Roberto Jewelers in Palm Desert and more than 10 similar "smash-and-grab" style thefts targeting jewelry stores since May.
The Palm Desert Robbery
On August 9, shortly after 2:10 p.m., four masked individuals entered the jewelry store in the 72800 block of Highway 111 armed with hammers. They destroyed multiple display cases and stole more than $87,000 in merchandise before fleeing the scene.
The Suspects
The six individuals arrested in connection with the robbery spree are:
Keyon Scott Hampton, 20, of Lancaster (bail: $180,000)
Khalil Darius Tanner, 24, of Rosamond (bail: $90,000)
J'Quan Glen Brasher, 28, of Lancaster (held without bail)
Jamial Damian Wilson, 25, of Los Angeles (bail: $150,000)
George Allen Diamond, 41, of Lancaster (held without bail)
Ryan Hawes, 35, of Los Angeles (in federal custody on unrelated charges)
Multi-Agency Investigation
The arrests were made throughout September following a multi-agency investigation that connected the Palm Desert incident to more than 10 similar robberies targeting jewelry stores across Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside counties.
Tanner and Brasher were arrested September 11 in Lancaster, followed by Hampton on September 16. Wilson was taken into custody September 18 in Los Angeles, and Diamond was arrested Tuesday, completing the roundup of suspects.
Charges
All suspects were booked into the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio on suspicion of multiple charges including robbery, vandalism, grand theft, burglary, committing theft with prior convictions, and conspiracy.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact authorities at 760-836-1600.
