Animal Psychic Fundraiser in Palm Desert Connects Pet Owners While Supporting Local Cats
A one-of-a-kind event in Palm Desert is giving pet owners a chance to connect with their animals in a whole new way—while supporting a local cause.
The upcoming “Psychic Paw Raiser” fundraiser will bring together animal communicators, tarot readers, and pet lovers for a unique experience benefiting the Coachella Valley Cat Club.
Hosted in part by NBC Palm Springs Assistant News Director Christine Clemens, the event takes place Saturday, April 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Gardens on El Paseo.
Guests will have the opportunity to sit down with animal communicator Frances Greenspan, who says she connects with pets through a telepathic “thinking voice,” offering insight into what animals may be feeling or thinking.
Organizers say the event is designed to be both fun and meaningful, giving attendees a chance to explore something different while raising money for animals in need.
Readings will be offered in 15-minute sessions for $20, with proceeds going directly to support the Coachella Valley Cat Club and its efforts to care for local cats.
In addition to animal readings, the event will feature tarot sessions and other spiritual experiences, creating a welcoming space for the community to gather and give back.
Organizers say whether you’re curious, skeptical, or simply a pet lover, the event offers a unique opportunity to connect—with your animal and your community.

Palm Springs is mourning the loss of beloved entertainer James “Gypsy” Haake, who has died at 94. Haake began his entertainment career at just 19 years old as a Broadway chorus dancer. After retiring from the stage, he returned to performing at 82, becoming the host of Carnival Cabaret at Oscars in downtown Palm Springs. A longtime friend of our station, Haake was a familiar and beloved figure in the Palm Springs entertainment community — and his contributions were recognized with a star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars.
