Thousands Rally Across Coachella Valley in “No Kings” Protests Yesterday, Including Massive Palm Springs Turnout

Protests swept across the Coachella Valley yesterday as thousands of residents took part in coordinated “No Kings” rallies opposing policies tied to President Donald Trump’s administration.

From east to west, demonstrators gathered in multiple cities across the valley, with NBC Palm Springs providing team coverage at all four official protest locations. One of the largest turnouts was seen outside Palm Springs City Hall, where organizers estimated roughly 6,500 people gathered to make their voices heard.

Participants held signs, chanted, and spoke out on a range of concerns, including foreign policy, leadership, and the direction of the country. Many protesters said they were motivated by a desire to protect democratic values and push for change through civic engagement.

Speakers at the Palm Springs rally emphasized the importance of using free speech to influence the future, with some sharing personal stories, poetry, and calls to action. Others expressed frustration with current leadership, urging voters to stay engaged ahead of future elections.

Demonstrations were also held on the east side of the valley, where crowds echoed similar sentiments, calling for unity, accountability, and a shift in national policy.

The local rallies were part of a much larger nationwide movement that unfolded yesterday, with major demonstrations reported in cities like Philadelphia, Boston, Charlotte, and Washington, D.C. Organizers say the coordinated effort may have been one of the largest single days of nonviolent protest action in U.S. history, though final participation numbers have not yet been confirmed.

NBC Palm Springs crews were on the ground throughout the day capturing highlights from each location. Clips from the rallies are expected to be shared across the station’s social media platforms.
