South Palm Canyon Bridge Demolition Begins, Drivers Urged to Use Caution
A major phase of the South Palm Canyon Bridge project is now underway in Palm Springs.
Construction crews began demolishing the eastern span of the bridge at 7 a.m., marking a significant step forward in the ongoing infrastructure project.
City officials are warning residents and drivers to expect increased noise in the area, along with heavy equipment moving in and out of the construction zone.
The demolition work is expected to continue for the next four weeks, with crews operating daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Drivers are being urged to use caution when traveling near the work zone and to remain alert for construction vehicles and changing traffic conditions.
City leaders say the project is part of broader efforts to improve infrastructure and safety in the area.
