Coachella Cancels Special Meeting on City Manager Appointment
The Coachella city government has canceled a special meeting that was scheduled for Wednesday evening to discuss the appointment of a permanent city manager.
The closed session meeting, originally set for 5 p.m., was expected to focus on leadership decisions following recent developments involving interim city manager Gabriel Gonzalez, who withdrew himself from consideration for the permanent role last week.
City officials say the cancellation is due to unforeseen circumstances involving a council member. No additional details have been released at this time.
NBC Palm Springs has reached out to city officials for further clarification. An update is expected once more information becomes available.
