Broadway Hits and Legendary Icons: McCallum Theatre Unveils Star-Studded 2026-2027 Season
The McCallum Theatre is preparing to pull back the curtain on its highly anticipated 2026-2027 season, promising a diverse lineup of world-class entertainment that spans Broadway, legendary musical acts, comedy, and dance. Theatre officials confirmed that the upcoming schedule was intentionally designed to appeal to audiences of all ages, blending nostalgic favorites with bold new productions.
Among the season’s crown jewels is the Broadway hit "The Bodyguard," scheduled for February 2027. The production serves as a high-energy tribute to the late Whitney Houston, featuring many of her greatest hits. Additionally, a centerpiece of the spring lineup is an all-new professional production of "The Sound of Music," slated for May 2027.
In a significant move to support local arts education, the McCallum is partnering with Coachella Valley schools to host a special matinee performance of "The Sound of Music." Middle and high school students will be invited to view the professional Equity production for free, providing local youth with rare access to high-caliber theatre.
Tickets for the general public go on sale Friday, May 22, 2026. However, McCallum Theatre members can secure their seats early during a special "Member Appreciation Week" presale running from Monday, May 18, through Thursday, May 21. Members who purchase online during this window will also receive a 50% discount on service fees.

Nearly a year after wildfires tore through Mountain Center, the scars are still visible along the Palms to Pines Highway. Now, fire crews are working to repair those burn areas and reduce the risk of flooding, erosion and mudslides when heavy rain arrives.
