Style and Empowerment: Weekly Fashion Show on El Paseo Celebrates Female Business Owners
A local fashion show in the heart of Palm Desert is doing much more than showcasing the latest trends; it is celebrating the growing community of female business owners across the Coachella Valley. Every Thursday, an iconic restaurant on El Paseo transforms into a hub of unity and support, bringing women together to uplift one another’s professional and personal successes.
The weekly event highlights the diversity of women-owned businesses in the valley, giving local owners a unique platform to reach new audiences. Pamela Turner, who has helped coordinate the show for several years, noted that the gathering blends fashion with a deep sense of community.
"I love it when other women have their businesses and are doing well," Turner said. "Meeting all kinds of women here that come to the fashion show has really been beneficial. It's all about the camaraderie that we have, supporting one another, and just being together in a beautiful environment."
This past week marked a significant milestone as the program held its season finale. To coincide with the holiday, the show featured a special Mother's Day theme, honoring the mothers and matriarchs who lead local families and firms. Attendees described the atmosphere as one of pure celebration and shared purpose.
While the weekly runway walks are pausing for the summer heat, the tradition is far from over. Organizers confirmed that the fashion show is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving, continuing its mission to provide an opportunity for women to enjoy each other's company and support female-led enterprises. Until then, the bonds formed on the El Paseo runway continue to strengthen the valley’s entrepreneurial spirit.
