PALM DESERT, California — American flags lined El Paseo in Palm Desert as a local staple, Kitchen 86, served up much more than food this Memorial Day. In a heartfelt gesture of holiday appreciation, the restaurant opened its doors to offer free breakfast and lunch to military veterans in honor of their service to the nation.

A troubling history is coming to light in a Palm Desert husband’s death. 65-year old Vicky Kim is accused in the death of her husband — but prosecutors say she had previously faced several domestic violence cases involving him.
