Orlando Marks 10 Years Since Pulse Nightclub Massacre with Solemn Overnight Vigil
ORLANDO, Florida — Survivors, family members, and grieving supporters gathered outside the former Pulse nightclub site overnight to honor the 49 lives lost on the 10th anniversary of one of the deadliest mass shootings in United States history. The somber memorial vigil commenced on Friday, June 12, 2026, at precisely 2:02 a.m.—the exact hour a gunman opened fire inside the LGBTQ+-friendly establishment a decade ago. Attendees stood closely together on the sidewalk, weeping and embracing as the names of each of the 49 victims were read aloud into the night air.
This milestone anniversary marked a deeply symbolic shift for the community, as it was the first annual gathering held since the original nightclub structure was officially demolished earlier this year to clear a path for a permanent city-funded memorial plaza.
