Missing 75-Year-Old Indio Woman Safely Located, Silver Alert Deactivated
INDIO, California — An at-risk 75-year-old woman who vanished in Indio early Wednesday morning has been safely located, according to regional law enforcement officials. The California Highway Patrol has officially deactivated the regional Silver Alert that was initiated on behalf of the Riverside County Sheriff's Office for Sarah Lynn Eades.
Eades had initially been reported missing after she was last seen at approximately 2:45 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, near the intersection of Indio Springs Drive and Vista Del Norte Road. Because investigators believed she was traveling entirely on foot, search efforts quickly intensified throughout the surrounding desert communities. Given her vulnerability, authorities utilized the state's emergency alert system to share her description with the public.
The Riverside County Sheriff's Department confirmed that Eades was safely tracked down at an unspecified location on Thursday morning, June 18, 2026. While authorities expressed profound relief that the search had come to a successful end, deputies shared few details regarding where she was found or the exact medical condition she was in when rescuers arrived. Law enforcement officials extended their gratitude to community members and local media partners for their rapid response in spreading awareness during the brief disappearance.
