Palm Springs City Council to Consider Public Safety, Cannabis and Election Issues
The Palm Springs City Council is set to consider several high-profile items during its meeting Tuesday evening.
Among the topics on the agenda is a proposal to purchase an armored vehicle for the Palm Springs Police Department. Council members are also expected to discuss a new policy governing palm tree trimming throughout the city.
In addition, the council will receive an update on the future of how Palm Springs elects its mayor, a topic that has drawn public interest as city leaders continue evaluating the current election process.
Council members will also consider proposed changes to the city's cannabis lounge ordinance, which could affect the operation of licensed cannabis businesses within Palm Springs.
The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at Palm Springs City Hall. Residents are invited to attend in person or follow the meeting through the city's official channels.
City officials encourage members of the public to review the meeting agenda in advance and participate in the discussion on issues affecting the community.
