Palm Springs Fire Department Offers Free Sandbags for Storm Preparedness
The Palm Springs Fire Department is helping residents prepare for potential storm-related flooding by providing free sandbags at all five city fire stations.
Empty sandbags are available for pickup at Fire Stations 1 through 5, allowing residents to take steps to protect their homes and property before severe weather arrives.
Officials say each household may receive up to 10 sandbags while supplies last.
After picking up the bags, residents can fill them at a self-service sand filling station located at Palm Springs City Hall.
The department encourages residents to prepare ahead of storms rather than waiting until heavy rain is in the forecast. Sandbags can help redirect water away from homes, garages and other vulnerable areas, reducing the risk of flood damage.
City officials remind residents to use sandbags as part of a broader emergency preparedness plan and to stay informed about weather conditions during storm events.
For more information on storm preparedness and sandbag availability, residents are encouraged to contact the Palm Springs Fire Department.
