Pothole Repairs Cause Lane Closures on East Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs
Drivers in Palm Springs are facing delays along East Palm Canyon Drive this week as crews work to repair potholes caused by recent rains.
Lane closures have impacted both directions of traffic. On Monday, an eastbound lane was closed further down the road, while on Tuesday, lanes in both directions were affected, creating noticeable backups for commuters and visitors alike.
City officials confirmed the closures are part of a pothole repair project and said they had shared information about the upcoming roadwork earlier this month on the city’s Angle Palm Springs website, which provides updates on infrastructure projects and traffic advisories.
As spring break and festival season bring more visitors to the desert, drivers are encouraged to allow extra time for their commute and to stay informed on future construction updates.

A troubling history is coming to light in a Palm Desert husband’s death. 65-year old Vicky Kim is accused in the death of her husband — but prosecutors say she had previously faced several domestic violence cases involving him. The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office says it had secured protective orders against Kim before a judge later resolved her cases as misdemeanors, released her from custody and terminated those orders. Now, Kim is expected to be arraigned in connection with her husband’s death. Court records allege the weapon used was a flagpole.
