While Burrow led his team to victory in Dallas Monday night, his Cincinnati home was broken into. Olivia Ponton, a model connected to Burrow, discovered the break-in and alerted authorities. The burglary follows October incidents at the homes of NFL stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, whose properties were burglarized within hours of each other. NBA players like Bobby Portis have also reported similar crimes, with Portis saying his "prized possessions" were taken earlier this month. Authorities believe these burglaries are the work of transnational South American theft groups. The FBI has identified a sophisticated operation where reconnaissance is conducted in advance, and crews are flown in to execute the break-ins. These groups often target cash and valuables that can be easily resold. The NFL and NBA have issued memos urging athletes to activate home security systems and avoid showcasing expensive items on social media. Law enforcement is working to apprehend the suspects before more high-profile homes are hit. As investigations continue, the string of burglaries underscores the vulnerabilities faced by athletes with public schedules, leaving many to reconsider their security measures.
