Title 9 Sports Grill: Phoenix’s First Women’s Sports Bar to Open Soon
The NBC Palm Springs Sports Desk, brought to you by Agua Caliente Casinos, highlights an exciting new venture in Phoenix, Arizona. A popular locally owned bar and restaurant is closing, but its space is set to reopen as the city’s first-ever women’s sports bar, Title 9 Sports Grill.
Scheduled to open by the end of next month, Title 9 Sports Grill is already generating buzz among fans. The concept is spearheaded by Audrey Corley, founder of Boycott Bar and a former college basketball coach, in collaboration with Kat Moore, co-founder of Short Leash Hotdogs + Taproom. Together, they aim to create a unique space that celebrates women athletes and their accomplishments.

Named after the landmark Title IX legislation that prohibits sex-based discrimination in education and sports, the bar’s mission is to honor the growing prominence of women in sports. Nearly a year after wildfires tore through Mountain Center, the scars are still visible along the Palms to Pines Highway. Now, fire crews are working to repair those burn areas and reduce the risk of flooding, erosion and mudslides when heavy rain arrives. The work includes fire-line suppression repairs, water bars and other measures designed to slow rainwater and keep burned soil from washing away.
