Motocross Star Colby Raha Breaks World Record at Palm Springs Surf Club
History was made this weekend at the Palm Springs Surf Club, where motocross athlete Colby Raha pulled off a jaw-dropping stunt that left the crowd of nearly 1,000 in awe.
Raha launched himself at speeds of up to 110 miles per hour from 50 yards out and successfully cleared 23 BMWs, landing 197 feet away—shattering a 51-year-old world record. The jump to flat ground not only thrilled the crowd but added a dramatic chapter to extreme sports history.
“This was a huge dream of mine—to break a legit world record at an awesome venue,” said Raha after the jump. “It feels amazing. We just did a huge world record and now we’re watching the world’s best surfers perform right behind us. It’s a blast.”
The event had an “Evel Knievel” feel to it, drawing thousands for the spectacle. Raha was joined by BMX, skateboarding, and mountain bike athletes—each setting new records in their categories. The celebration continued into the evening, with athletes mingling, signing autographs, and watching surfing exhibitions at the surf club.
In other sports news, defenseman Cale Fleury is staying with the Seattle Kraken organization. Fleury signed a two-year contract extension last week. A familiar name in the Coachella Valley, Fleury split the past three seasons between the NHL’s Kraken and the AHL’s Coachella Valley Firebirds. Last season, Fleury played 14 games with Seattle and 39 games with the Firebirds, tallying seven goals and 19 assists.

A high-speed police chase in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, came to a dramatic end when the vehicle plunged into Lake Como. Dashcam video released by police shows the pursuit before the car crashes into the water. Four people inside the vehicle were pulled from the lake with no serious injuries reported.
