Earlier this week on NBC Palm Springs, Chloe opened up about a surprising wave of emails she’s been receiving. Some viewers assumed she was pregnant—again—based solely on the way her stomach looked on-air.
“I’m the baby that I’m supposed to be having,” she said lightheartedly, before clarifying, “which I’m not pregnant.”
The offhanded assumption from strangers sparked a larger conversation about body image and the scrutiny women—especially those on TV—often face.
“I’ve had two C-sections,” Chloe shared. “I think it takes time to kind of fully... I’m not a doctor... but to reattach those abs down there.” Her honesty resonated with many viewers.
One viewer, Susan, emailed in with strong support: “These people need to get a life. Judging somebody's body in this day and age has got to go. We've all got our body stuff. You look gorgeous, Chloe. Keep up the good work.”
Another viewer, Bess, echoed that sentiment: “Wanted to say that Chloe looks great just as she is. No apologies needed. As the kids would say—body shaming, not cool.”
The message was clear: It’s time to be more mindful of the words we direct at others, especially when it comes to something as personal as someone’s body.
