A confusing sign in Indio recently sparked concern for a viewer named Tim, who spotted what appeared to be a "no pedestrian access" warning along a stretch of the CV Link. Tim snapped a photo and questioned whether walking was still allowed — after all, the CV Link was designed for walkers, hikers, cyclists, and low-speed electric vehicles.
Good news for Tim (and others): you're right. According to the CV Link website, the pathway was specifically created for pedestrians, bikers, and low-speed electric vehicles to travel safely and continuously across the Coachella Valley.
We reached out to the Coachella Valley Association of Governments (CVAG) and CV Link officials for clarification. They confirmed that the CV Link is absolutely open to pedestrians, and there are no sections where walking is permanently restricted.
The temporary signs like the one Tim spotted are typically placed during construction for safety reasons, officials said. In the photo, the path looked incomplete, missing the familiar orange and blue paint striping that marks finished sections of the CV Link.
Since the exact location of the photo is unclear, CVAG could not comment specifically on that stretch. But they assured us that once construction is complete, all parts of the CV Link will remain open to foot traffic.
