The Coachella Valley is alive with entertainment and community events this weekend, offering something for music lovers, history buffs, and families alike.
On Saturday, September 20, the Cathedral City Library will host musician Andy Cahan from 2 to 3 p.m. for a signing of his new book The Most Famous Musician You’ve Never Heard Of. Cahan shares stories from his six decades in the music industry, working alongside icons like Harry Nilsson, Little Richard, Ringo Starr, and Jimi Hendrix.
Later that evening, Rod Stewart takes the stage at Agua Caliente Resort and Casino in Rancho Mirage. The legendary rocker, whose career spans five decades and over 250 million records sold, will deliver a night of timeless hits at 8 p.m.
Downtown Palm Springs will also welcome the Women’s Jazz Festival’s Blues at the Woodstock at Hotel Zoso. The event features powerhouse performers including Ruthie Foster, Martha Redbone, Bette Smith, Habaka, Dr. Gail Johnson, and the Blues All-Stars, celebrating women’s contributions to jazz and blues.
For a more reflective evening, the Palm Springs Air Museum will hold its seventh annual POW/MIA event from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The gathering honors prisoners of war and those still missing in action through stories, reunions, and remembrance, offering a heartfelt tribute to service and sacrifice.
