When viewers Ed and Brenda asked about several vacant restaurant spaces around the Coachella Valley, we went looking for answers.
First, there is movement at Lord Fletcher’s in Rancho Mirage. City officials say new owners are planning to reopen the restaurant and have recently received tenant improvement permits. While no official reopening date has been announced, the permit activity signals progress behind the scenes. Residents looking for additional updates can contact the City of Rancho Mirage directly for business development information.
As for Papa Dan’s, its Facebook page previously indicated plans to reopen by the end of the month. However, that post was dated January 7, and as of late February, the restaurant remains closed. We are working to gather more updated information on its timeline.
In Palm Desert, the former Tilted Kilt location — near the KMIR studio — has been empty for quite some time. Recently, construction activity has been spotted at the site, suggesting something new may be moving into the space. At this point, it’s unclear what business is coming in, but visible work indicates change could be on the way.
We will continue to monitor developments and provide updates as more information becomes available.
