First off, there’s a massive federal funding freeze that has basically vaporized about $200,000 the club was counting on. That is not chump change. That money is the lifeblood for their programs, and without it, everything is at risk. But here’s the kicker: while the bank account is shrinking, security concerns at their facilities are actually spiking. Talk about a nightmare scenario. You’ve got less money to work with exactly when you need more resources to keep the kids safe.
It’s honestly heartbreaking. For hundreds of local families, this club isn’t just a "hangout"—it’s a second home. It’s the safe haven where kids go when that final school bell rings so they aren't stuck on the streets or home alone. If the club is forced to scale back, we’re talking about hundreds of parents scrambling for childcare they probably can’t afford, and teenagers losing a positive environment.
