Coachella Valley Water District Releases 2025 Water Quality Report Confirming Safe Drinking Water
The Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) has officially released its annual Water Quality Report, offering valley residents a transparent look at the safety and composition of their local drinking water supply. Featured during a special "Water Wise Wednesday" broadcast segment, the newly published document compiles a massive amount of environmental data collected throughout the previous calendar year.
Rigorous Testing to Fight Misinformation
To compile the comprehensive report, CVWD team members conducted extensive laboratory testing on approximately 23,000 individual water samples collected across the district throughout 2025. Lorraine Garcia, Communications Manager for the Coachella Valley Water District, emphasized that this rigorous screening schedule is essential for protecting public health and ensuring peace of mind for local families.
"Every year we put together this report, and really it's a summary of all the water quality testing that we do throughout the year," Garcia explained. "There's a lot of misinformation out there, and you can get your verified facts directly from our water quality report."
Meeting the Nation's Strictest Standards
The report's primary finding is a reassuring one for the community: the valley’s drinking water meets or exceeds every single state and federal safety benchmark. Garcia noted that achieving full compliance is particularly noteworthy in California, which maintains some of the most aggressive and protective environmental health protections in the entire country.
The successful testing parameters indicate that CVWD's ongoing groundwater replenishment efforts and infrastructure management are effectively delivering clean, high-quality water to taps across the desert ecosystem, completely free of harmful contamination levels.

The Water Quality Report is a matter of public record and is easily accessible to all valley utility customers. CVWD has provided multiple avenues for residents to review the findings:
Digital Copy: Available instantly as a downloadable PDF on the official website at CVWD.org.
By Mail: Local customers can contact the district office to request a physical paper copy to be delivered directly to their home.
In-Person Pick-up: Printed booklets are available at the district's main administrative offices for walk-in visitors.

Nearly a year after wildfires tore through Mountain Center, the scars are still visible along the Palms to Pines Highway. Now, fire crews are working to repair those burn areas and reduce the risk of flooding, erosion and mudslides when heavy rain arrives.
