Coachella Valley to Stay Warm This Week with Gusty Winds Expected by Weekend
Coachella Valley residents can look forward to more sunshine and warm weather as temperatures continue trending slightly above seasonal averages this week. Today's high hit 94°F, about four degrees above the norm of 90°F for this time of year.
Expect similar weather heading into Wednesday, with forecasted highs ranging from 91°F to 95°F. Breezy onshore winds from the west will persist, bringing sustained speeds around 20 mph across the desert floor. These breezes may feel refreshing but will be more intense in areas known for wind activity, such as the San Gorgonio Pass and Whitewater.
In these zones, winds could become gusty, with sustained speeds hitting 40 mph and gusts reaching into the 50s and even 60s as we move into the weekend. This could impact outdoor plans and travel conditions, particularly on Saturday.
Despite the breezier conditions, a notable temperature drop is expected by Sunday, with a storm system ushering in cooler air. Highs will drop into the 70s, a welcome shift for those looking for a break from the heat—but be prepared for stronger wind gusts as the system moves through.
Stay weather-aware and plan accordingly if you're heading out, especially toward the weekend.
