Coachella Valley Heat Continues: Weekend Temperatures Set to Soar
Happy Thursday, Coachella Valley!
Temperatures are holding strong in the triple digits today, with a high of 105°F expected—just a touch cooler than the 107°F we previously anticipated. Even with that slight dip, conditions remain well above the seasonal average of 102°F, keeping the region in a classic early summer heatwave.
The current pattern is being driven by a ridge of high pressure which is shifting northward over the Baja Peninsula. By Friday, this ridge will be fully in place, maintaining daytime highs in the 104°F to 108°F range. Expect mostly clear skies, with just a few wispy high clouds drifting through. Relative humidity remains extremely low, hovering around 5%, making for very dry air.
Looking ahead to the weekend, that same high-pressure center will continue its northward push, settling over western Arizona by Sunday. This movement will trigger a noticeable spike in temperatures, pushing highs into the 111°F to 115°F range by Sunday afternoon. This will likely mark the hottest stretch of the week.
As we move through the new week, a slight cooldown is expected, with highs backing off to around 107°F by next Thursday. Still, it's a long, hot road ahead—so stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities during peak heat, and take precautions if you're spending time outside.

Thursday: 105°F, dry and mostly sunny
Friday: 104–108°F, very dry with minimal cloud cover
Saturday: Heating up
Sunday: 111–115°F, peak heat of the week
Next Thursday: Slightly cooler, around 107°F
