An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Thursday, August 21, 2025!

The Coachella Valley will be under mostly sunny skies this afternoon with dew points in the 50s and above-normal high temperatures in the middle one-teens.

You can expect another day of middle one-teens on Friday but with slightly higher humidity.

Excessive heat advisories have been posted for a large area of the Southwest, this includes the Coachella Valley where an Extreme Heat Warning has been issued through Saturday.

As monsoonal moisture slowly moves in our direction over the next few days, SoCal rain chances move up. We may see a couple of isolated mountain thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday, but more-so on Monday and Tuesday when a few spill-over Valley showers are a possibility.

Keep in mind, surface moisture levels will begin to rise over the next few days with dew points around 60° beginning Friday, then 60s on Tuesday and Wednesday.
