An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Monday, August 24, 2026!

Because high temperatures will continue to exceed 110° each afternoon this week, the National Weather Service has posted an Extreme Heat Warning for the Coachella Valley-area through Friday.

Today, the Valley will be under a mix of Sun and clouds with elevated humidity and high temperatures in the one-tweens.

With enough mid-level moisture in place over Southern California, a few mountain showers and/or thunderstorms are expected this afternoon. While mid-level steering currents will be out of the SSW, a few spill-over sprinkles are possible today for the Coachella Valley.

Our two hottest days will be Tuesday and Wednesday when Valley temps heat-up into the middle one-teens under mostly clear skies both afternoons.
