Weekend Workout with David Lyons: Contraction Training
It's time for the Weekend Workout with David Lyons. David introduces the next three-day cycle of workouts, focused on contraction training. This cycle kicks off with chest, back, and shoulder exercises, led by Kendra. For the first exercise, Kendra performs a lower chest press, coming up and out from the bottom position, contracting her chest for four seconds on each movement. The exercise requires intense focus and control, as Kendra holds each contraction, ensuring proper muscle engagement. The next exercise targets the back muscles, with Kendra performing a back row from the same bottom position. Slightly bending her knees, Kendra pulls back and holds the contraction for four seconds, feeling the stretch and squeeze in her back. Afterward, she transitions to a shoulder exercise, where she pulls upwards and out to work the top part of her shoulders. She holds each contraction for four seconds, feeling the resistance as her shoulders activate. The process of holding each contraction adds an extra layer of intensity to these exercises. Kendra continues to work in the same position throughout, focusing on form and precision. David emphasizes the importance of holding each contraction to maximize muscle activation and growth. The first day of the contraction cycle ends, leaving participants feeling strong and accomplished.
