Kraft Heinz Pledges to Remove Artificial Dyes

This morning, momentum is building to ban artificial dyes from grocery store foods nationwide.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. recently announced the government plans to work with companies to phase out these dyes by the end of 2026.
In response, Kraft Heinz has pledged to completely remove artificial dyes from its products by 2027.
Nearly 90 percent of Kraft Heinz’s products are already dye-free, the company says.
Iconic brands like Kool-Aid and Jello will soon have a new look without artificial colors.
Kennedy claims artificial dyes are linked to behavioral issues in children, though the FDA has not confirmed this connection.
Nutrition expert Marion Nestle says while the evidence is unclear, removing questionable additives from food is a positive step.
The FDA has already banned Red Dye No. 3 due to tumor findings in animal studies, though no link to human cancer exists.
A 2021 California report found artificial colorings may be associated with hyperactivity in some children.
Some parents on social media are sharing their own efforts to cut dyes from kids’ diets.
However, experts caution that removing dyes is just a start, as high sugar content remains a major concern in many products.
Nestle emphasizes that improving children’s health will also require stricter rules on marketing junk food to kids.
